I reconsidered the ID choice for this faction, and have decided to switch to the Junkers ID after it was suggested. Here's why I was willing to give it a try:
Hudson started out on a Junkers ship (Argo) as a character that was part of the crew for Captain Antares. After he went his own way, he was a pirate for a while, then privateer, then BIS, then back to privateer, then back to pirate.
Antares started out the same way, and was a sort of freelancer Junker who scrapped a bit as a front to piracy, and escorted junkers.
Then there's this to consider:
Quote:
Junkers
The Junkers are a group of smugglers and black market traders who maintain a legal front through scrap peddling. They are rumored to deal with a lot of unlawful factions, but are enemies of the Xenos and the Hogosha.
Pilot carrying this quasi-lawful ID is a member of the Junkers, who:
- Can attack any ships in self-defense, to protect another Junker ship, or in defense of a Junker base.
- Can demand cargo and credits from ships outside of Rheinland, Liberty and Bretonian house space, and attack them if they do not comply.
- Can attack Xenos and Hogosha anywhere.
- Cannot use any transport with more than 4,300 cargo.
So it seems that maintaining a front as Junkers would make sense, and serve as a secondary source of legit income. Since Hudson has the background he does (dealing black market arms, importing various arms' to Leeds, now raiding for arms/munitions, acquiring NEMP's during the war). I figure we could try to act like we're salvaging for weapons and military salvage from Gallic War wrecks on top of potential pirate raiding. (Perhaps in the future some p-scrap and military salvage fields could be added to Bretonia/Taus and Gallic BW, will push for that in the near future).
This will also bring the faction rep in line with what I have, and open it up for many more relations with quasi and lawful factions. I like the idea that we maintain a front as military salvagers and 2nd hand arms dealers that openly have no love for the Enclave and a few others. With it likely we'd stay non house based Junkers, I'd stick to this group's two main enemies being the Enclave and the Coalition, and try to include an RP theme around surviving off of post Gallic War salvage efforts as well as pirate raiding.
Updated OP and slight rep shift again, adjusted roles and ships info. Added 'Pioneer' role.
