Wait does that do anything for the event or does it just deny the payout? Is it against the rules to dock to deny the other guy the bounty?
And in reply to Hemlocke, the event scenario is fine, its just how it all goes down and the lack of value of things. I wonder if the Separatist faction or HF would be as dead if there were more to do war/terrorism wise, like if there were actual LN targets to worry about.
To me, it should always be going on. LIberty would always be trying to keep a few npc cap ships in and near Bering, and their enemies should be able to pick at them as if they were POB's. A simple rule system could then determine how fast those ships get replaced, or if they can be. So basically my advise is, as always (the dead horse is now a zombie), give these factions the chance to work for their territory, and let factions actually have purpose.
And this is why I suggested only military ships be given HP bars so there are at least some actual targets to fight over, that would be meaningless except the purpose of holding the area. Instead of worrying about denied kills, go back to caring about the objective, so factions can have goals to work on over time that can be real goals! That really helps with keeping factions interesting, and keep some reason to bothering with smaller factions. I only continue to hammer this in because there's no way its that hard to make happen, and with a few simple changes on how we value things in the game, it opens up a huge amount of options for gameplay and commensurate RP.
If you fight over a real base, to free or gain actual space in the game, it wouldnt matter if someone docks to get away. If you drive off an attacking force from an actual mortal base, which helps it live, thats worth more than a few million credits. Thats how you gain actual reputation in Sirius.
siegable NPC bases blow, because you end up with people doing the exact same as with POBs
