Character Name: Takeda Ichika
Biography: Born in new Tokyo to the known Takeda family, I've grown up in the best areas of the planet, being young I always had my eyes toward the stars, I've spent multiple nights watching them above our home, the exploding ships that looks like a bright flash in that sky. My father was very kind and explained me that those were fighters who are defending our beautiful planet. Some of those pilots were never coming back and some were from our family. It was a great honor to be part of the KNF in my family and I've always seen them as the protectors of Kusari.
Growing older, I've been lucky enough to receive the best education money can afford, I've always portrayed myself to enter the famous KNF school but as time goes by, my mother started explaining me that woman have to learn ..other things. She started showing me how to make a good tea, how to play instruments and how to properly take care of "a man". I discussed with my dad about it and he told me something that was so obvious that I've been kind of missing all the time.
He said: Dear Ichika, during all those years, haven't you seen something in those pilots ?
I asked: Yes dad, they always seems tenacious, angry, they're heroes !
He said: Yes, but have you ever seen any woman pilot among those ?
This question left me speechless, yes, there was never any female pilot, he then added: "Those men need wives to take care of them, this is the role of women in our society". He then left up and the discussion stopped there.
Actually, there was nothing to add, it made everything crystal clear to me, why okasan was teaching me all of this, why I couldn't get in junior KNF school, why my studies were not taking me into any fighting piloting skills.
I discussed about this with Okasan, she explained me the role of a woman in our society and told me that I will be a housewife and that my husband is already known, he is "a great junior pilot and has great potential to take care of me" and I should marry him in 2 years when I'll turn 18. I refused and our voices started to raise when she said "You will not become like your aunt Ai !, one dishonor is enough for our family ! You have a reputation to defend !". I was in shock, my aunt Ai, they always told she was murdered when she encountered a group of terrorists in Hokkaido, I never understood why she never had a proper burial ceremony and nobody talked about her. I decided to not say anything, okasan added "I will talk with your father about this when he comes back home tonight, he will explain that to you Ichika"
I feel that something is wrong. Okasan is too silent and didn't say a single thing, something is being prepared and I'm really afraid...
It's almost night, Ottosan will come back soon, I see the ship card for the ship that father use for light transport, I will take it and go with the ship to Hokkaido, either I will die to those terrorists, or I will find out what aunt Ai have become. I need to know that before being jailed at home when my parents will find out what I'm planning or being forcefully married to someone I don't even know, this will be my final free choice (if not the only one) in this life.
