Bretonian Warmongering in the Taus!
Sulawesi Citadel - Tau 44: Substantial Fleet activity has been noted around Crayterian holdings in the deep Taus this week as reports come in of Bretonian war fleets moving in and out of the Orkney System. It has been confirmed there that elements of Her Majesty's fleet have been assaulting Gallic installations without any evidence of correspondence or diplomatic exchange preceeding the malicious attacks. Crayterian peacekeeping vessels have attempted to intervene on multiple attempts but the blind senseless bombardments of the Bretonian war machine seem to continue unabated. Intermittent skirmishes between the outnumbered local Gallic garrisons and the Bretonians have occured with most losses being taken by the Gauls to date.
Just yesterday, the Thanatos-class patrol cruiser FV Hermes intervened and broke up a firefight between the HMS Grandiose, escorting the badly damaged warship back to Tau 31 only to see the Bretonian Invincible-class dreadnought return just hours later to continue their illegal bombardment, this time accompanied by further elements of the Bretonian Armed Forces.
In a statement from the Crayter Military, we are informed the Hermes, though completely outclassed by the most lumbering and heavy warship the Kingdom has a-field, put themselves directly into the line of fire, after repeated dialogue attempts were made to the Grandiose command deck failed and still the bloodthirsty captain ordered their batteries continue firing, inflicting minor damage to the Crayterian vessel before Cpt. Velaryon of the Hermes instructed a prudent withdrawal.
According to sources on-scene, Gaians of a seemingly divergent extremist splinter cult were spotted encouraging the Bretonian assault and offering support to their countrymen in a bizarre twist of fate.
The Ministry of Defense, in a press conference following the incident, repeated the Crayter Republic's commmittment to preventing further conflict in the war-torn Tau Region and condemning the Bretonian Armed Forces actions in Orkney as "warmongering and illegal".
