i m not really too fond of fusing existing designs together - but that one looks OK. you have given it a custom sine and very elegant forms about its back to the fin. the "legs" on its back look a bit out of place ( with the elegantly bend up rear fin ) but they could merge into the whole look with a good texture.
and i would have preferred the crusader chassis instead of the chavalier, cause the chavalier suggests to be a light fighter, no matter what you stick on it - it hadly looses its "lightness".
now - the texture is gonne be fun. - bretonian ships become bretonian with their skin, unlike any other ship. - i can make a kusari looking ship without any kusari texture, - works with rheinland and liberty, too. - but bretonian ships need this ornamented red / white skin.
more to the point:
what i like is that it keeps the bretonian feeling. although its merged parts of ships ( which i rather associate with junkers ) - it looks like something on its own - and not like an accident at high speed. i also like the basic shape from the side - looking like a "S" laying on its side. its a good concept and works well.
what i do not like is the massive legs on its top that look like they were stretched and squeezed into their current shape - but not originally modelled. the beard section below the cockpit is a bit too much a characteristic of the light fighter. - i d like to see more "body" and less beard. - so what you did with the spine, you could do with the belly - stretch it downwards while at the same time reduce this beard shape. but thats just a subjective idea for a heavier fighter.
right now, it looks like a LF mk2 - but not like a heavy or VHF to me.
edit: the direct comparrisson is somewhat a surprise to me. - the crusader looks much sleeker than the chavalier. - actually it looks much more agile, too - even than the avenger. - not at all massive like it looks ingame. - if you took away its legs, it would look like a light - while the chavalier looks dumpy.
