' Wrote:should pvp be limited? - nah, i don t think so
switching from a fighter to a batltefleet is unreasonble and by limiting this stuff you don t get anything better but more violation reports. - i don t think its much about the capital ships for that matter as you are mostly invulnerable against a capship when you re flying a fighter. - but of course, you must ask yourself.... when you re a pirate, is manhatten really the best place to hang around? - even NPCs fly raid group patrols there ( battleship, 2 cruisers, 4 fighters ) ... and if these were as dangerous as player controlled ships... would you hang out there, too?
pvp is down to whats necessary - and its up to the player himself to control it. - last time i had a fight against two QCO guys. - the fight lasted like 30 minutes or something, and i got bored cause all that happened was doding around and occasionally hitting each others shields.
i simply retreated ( docked ) and swallowed the 4 hours lockout - cause its simply no fun to pvp like that. - mind, there is no rule to force them or me to do anything and we could have gone on for ages. - pvp is what happens to two sides, not only one. - when i m in a fighter facing a warship patrol, i retreat. - but i don t get angry at them. - why should i ... i m overpowered, and when i retreat, i simply don t enter the system for 4 hours, cause it would put my char into danger of death.
it doesn t need a rule for that. - when i face a greater force that i cannot beat, i run. - thats what makes it interesting. why should the defender suffer / or the attacker - just cause the other side is too weak?
( except for switching from a fighter to a battleship ) - being outnumbered, outgunned is what is part of RP. - pvp is where you try to balance stuff.. RP is where you try NOT to balance battles.
Yeah... I'ma agree with Jinx here. Oh, and I think I was one of those QCRF! I remember you... >.< dang Chimera. And, of course the annoying swarms of Gaian NPC fighters. Anyways, I digress. In-RP, you shouldn't be right up at Manhattan in a GS. Now, they certainly didn't need to bring out some battleships to deal with a little gunship, but if you're sitting next to a capital planet, then it'll happen even when you think logically about it. After all, those battleships are already deployed about the planet, right?
