Guten tag, mein damen und herren.
I have recently conducted a scouting mission into the area of the scrap mining operation within the Texas system. While the presence of of dark matter near the operation is a cause for some concern, it is far enough away from the larger scrap clusters to be of low importance for now. Moreover, it seems that the radioactivity at the edge of the Grande Negra field is quite manageable - regular maintenance should take care of any long-term exposure. However, the material on the edge is quite spread out, and it would be difficult to achieve sufficient tonnage during short operations inside.
If there are personnel concerns, I am assured by Sugarland wardens that the inmates are eager to work in most conditions. I understand from Herr Linhardt that Herr Legion has already prepared plans for a program, and any early security issues can be quickly ironed out by our security teams. I have also spoken to the staff at Chesterfield, who after some reticence opened up a little, and we exchanged our security concerns. Rogue traffic does exist, but patrols from the Arkansas and prison convoys usually put a damper on any lurking dangers. At this point in the clean-up operation, we would not need to venture deeply into the dark matter fields - the East and South Dallas have sufficient scrap volumes for months of salvage operations, or so I was told by the DSE miners.
I recommend continuing on as we were, and outsourcing any larger-scale operations to the experienced DSE crews, while we tag along as expert observers and extra security as necessary. I've spoken to Herr Hauer, and he already has concerns about intake specialization which has him stay for far longer in one spot than with waste recovery. The scrap clusters are also much further away that the Dortmund and Osaka sites, which means any security personnel will have to be on ready five, which will eat into efficiency.
In summary, we will need to work with DSE to make any meaningful clean-up progress, and likely outsource the main salavage operation, while we focus on clean-up and stand-by security (in addition to the Navy patrols). I am also attaching a short radiology report by Herr Hauer, with he has asked to pass along with the comment "Junker haven", whatever that means...
