Herr Major Westerwalt,
I have taken a personal interest in your application. Naturally, your considerable experience and long service would normally earn you a swift reinstatement, but I must be clear about one thing, mein herr. The contemptible civil war is now behind us, and we serve both the Emperor and the Executor's Office, preferably in that order. If you have prior grudges or unpaid debts of honor, you had best leave those behind along with your healed battle wounds. The only things you will now despise are Rheinland's enemies, and the Libertonians.
With that said, your application is approved. Due to the modernization of the Rheinwehr's structure, your new rank shall be that of a Fregattenkapitän. While you will once again be near the top, the responsibilities of the Militar have all but doubled in recent years. You will find yourself quite busy after your brief orientation to catch yourself up on recent history and other critical matters. Vizeadmiral Kunrad and I will be glad to assist your transition to active duty, but I will also expect much of you once you are deemed ready, Herr Fregattenkapitän.
You will find that a new office has been assigned to you at HQ. I expect that you will not see much of it after the next few weeks - enjoy what comforts of shore life that you can while you have the time to do so.
Hochachtungsvoll,
Alfred Henze
Großadmiral der Kaiserlichen Rheinwehr
