What are Gallic Brigands?

The Gallic Brigands are a loosely organized group of unlawfuls who are the dominate force in the Gallic Underworld. Despite the Gallic Brigands being the largest unlawful entity in Gallic space, that size can never be capitalized upon due to the lack of organization, and willingness to coordinate with each other due to the risk of losing personal gain. Gallic Brigands are only one step up from being an average independent unlawful. Most Brigands are only a Gallic Brigand in name, mostly due to being lopped in to the organization by reference of law enforcement. Brigands are independent and work only to further their crew or their own personal needs and hedonistic desires.

Brigands attempt to maintain a "good guy" like persona of robbing the rich, and giving to the poor. However this is a ruse as in reality most Brigands are seen targeting the little man and the corporate giant indiscriminately. Brigands have absolutely no regard for politics, they work with the Unione Corse and Maquis exclusively for business reasons.

Légion de Minuit Information

La Légion de Minuit, or to sirians, The Midnight Legion/Legion of Midnight, is a rare example of a coordinated group existing within the Gallic Brigands. Lead by its Patron: Liliane Verninac, the Legion's name was gained through renown due to their dedication to delivering the drug known as Nox, as well as rumours of stealth and assassination capabilities. Unlike the Unione Corse, their business partners, the legion is not as clean or as structured, each member having a substantial amount of autonomy to follow their own wants and desires. Despite this, legion members often share the same goals, and achieve them as a whole significantly more often than a regular Brigand.

Activities

The Legion partakes in many activities that are, but not limited too:

Smuggling
Smuggling is the founding activity of the LdM. Nox, weapons, ammunition, Cardamine, artifacts, you name it we'll get it too you.

Piracy
Why make your own credits when you can take rich companies credits? Cargo and credit theft are the most common piracy related activities for the LdM.

Bounty Hunting
The more bold brigand may find himself hunting bounties on lawful assets. Although slightly uncommon, contracts to disable, destroy, or kill are taken by the legion.

Hijacking and Kidnapping
Found a ship you want? Take you and your cronies, and go disable it, capture the crew, and claim her as yours. (Some conditions may apply, avoid: Gunboats, Cruisers, Battlecruisers, Carriers, Battleships. Shipboard security count is too high, chance of success extremely low.)

Goals and Ambitions

The Contraband Must Flow
Being a big player in the blackmarket of Gallia, the legion dedicates many of its resources to finding and supplying clients, as well as finding individuals to supply said clients. With the introduction of Cardamine into the Gallic market, the legion is looking to establish ties with Malta to increase their position further within the market.

It's Always a Good Time to Party
Hedonistic ideas are almost sacred in the legion, every man and woman is encouraged to enjoy life to the fullest extent they can, at all times. Members of the legion spend more time partying than anything else.

Tau Expansion
The Taus are a major trade highway and resource rich area, making it fit to be plundered completely and utterly. Expansion into the Tau's is a very high priority for the legion, and it will be attempted as soon as possible.

Diplomacy

As long as there is something to gain for the legion, most members are willing to work with just about anyone as long as a suitable amount of credits are on the line.

Business Partners

-Unione Corse
The Unione Corse is the primary business partner of the LdM. Being the lead producer of Nox, Business with UC is a required constant to credits flowing.

-Maquis
The Maquis are a business partner in the field, anything the Maquis intend to capture or destroy, you will find Brigands there to help themselves to whatever they can find.

-Junkers
The Junkers are a useful tool in getting access to the Sirian market, as they provide resources coming in, as well as provide someone to ship Gallic resources out. Reputation varies on a Junker to Junker basis.

Neutral

Independent Pirates
The LdM sees independent pirates as nothing more than what their name says. Despite this they are occasionally hired for work by the LdM.

Outcasts
The interest in Cardamine but the lack of communication between the LdM and Malta, put the LdM on the centre of the scale when dealing with Outcasts.

Others Unlisted
The LdM has either no care for factions listed here or no contact.

Hostile

House Military/Police/Intelligence
Any Lawful law enforcement agency be it a fleet, cop, or agent, is a threat to the LdM and its activities.

House Corporations
Large house corporations are the primary piracy targets of the LdM. Although certain independent groups are targeted as well. Corporations like BMM, and GMS the primary targets of the LdM.

Xenos
Xenos are Hostile as they have targeted Nox shipments to Liberty in the past. Being a group dedicated to the opposition of foreigners, the LdM treats them as a threat.
