This troubles me. This line sounds like an easy excuse to drop any kind of RP interaction, in any situation.
In short, those freelancers lost their base because their RP wasn't good enough. I'm also not sure if I'm fully ok with that. Were there any negotiations between the players about the base situation out of role-play?
