Pierce.
I'm attaching Becker's response to this log, purely for my own organizational needs. I like my setup, and I'd hate to mix it up now.
In short, she's placing the burden of choice on me. Can't say I'm surprised, really. This is peak her.
I'm going to allow Rie to continue this train of investigation. Looking over that recording she made of the ship's feed.. it's otherworldly. We've never encountered anything like this, and yet I fear there is more than just this out there. If this is what's been going on out here, this.. strange metamorphosing, then it's our obligation to investigate, no?
Hopefully, Rie will make a good effort on this. A shame she fell into this, but I won't send anyone, even Gorobets, in her stead. She's been exposed, and I'm sure even she knows it.
I'll ask her to head out once again tomorrow, to see if she can make second contact. The one from the video feed said it would subject itself to questioning, which would be.. well, quite the shock, I suppose.
We'll need to make the necessary preparations, and to ensure the Overwatch, or anyone really, does not interject themselves into this.
I doubt they'll be anywhere near as allowing as Patty was.

Colonel Pierce,
Against my better judgement, I'm going to allow you to make the decision in this situation. I'll briefly remind you that protocol exists for a reason, and relaxing it puts your operative in considerable danger, especially with regards to Nomad entities. I trust your experience in this matter, however, as I would not have sent you and your men on this assignment otherwise.
Continue to monitor your assigned operative closely, and terminate should they be compromised. This is the one aspect of our measures I will not budge on.
Do not make me regret this action, Colonel. Your operative's life and your career hang on this gamble.
