Simply put, I've probably reached that comfortable ceiling in shooting over people where I can still be mildly threatening in groupfights and some duels, and I'm more or less maintaining that shape in both snubs and capital ships. There's several factors playing into my loss of motivation for improvement too, like absolute butchering of battleships to the point they lost (had a dramatic shift, if I'm honest) their primary role and became just glorified artillery platforms.
What also factors in is decrease in flexibility of loadouts which makes fights (fighter pvp especially) fairly unsatisfying.
All of the above is my subjective opinion (or justification) for why I don't bother and just more or less keep up my average shape. That, and constantly shifting meta well breaking my knees while I dash around to try and adapt.
