I trust I can speak this not only for the RM, but for every serious player (factions and independents) that operate in Rheinland. We all strive to bring the best RP environment we can in that corner of Sirius and we will continue to do so, both by putting our hearts to it through our characters and by making sure there is no room for people to break the suspension of disbelief all these players are working to create there.

The RP: By decree of the office of Chancellor of Rheinland, Niklaus Reinhardt, all sorts of Nomad materials (those include: any Nomad related weapons, beings, parts and apparatus) are forbidden in Rheinland space. Ships carrying these materials will be instructed to relinquish them for destruction or leave Rheinland territories. Should the captain of the ship chose to relinquish them and the items are mounted on the ship, they will be allowed into orbital stations only (not Planets), so the items may be remove on sealed docks for posterior destruction. The destruction of said items is to be overseen by the authority in charge (RM or RFP pilot). Failure to comply to this is punishable with death.

The reasoning behind the RP: If not the nation that has suffered the most with the attempted Nomad invasion, Rheinland was the House that was and still is (The Wilds) more directly affected by it. It is only reasonable that the Rheinlanders deal with this issue with extreme prejudice.

I have decided to make this an open letter as a general warning to all players that currently play, are willing to or may come to play armory ships in Rheinland space. Armory ships are regarded with respect by a good part of the community given the fact that they carry items which are valuable from an ooRP standpoint. This respect comes from the fact that most here aren't interested in hurting other players by any means. These items translate into time spent in the game and we aren't interested in robbing anyone of that.

This respect is extended somewhat to weapons dealers for the same reason. However, as armory ships function on a metagaming level (since there is no way to implement "store houses"), weapons dealers aren't a necessity, but pretty much just another RP entity in the game. As such, they can't and shouldn't abuse that virtual immunity most part of the community grants them as they see fit, and worse, purposely disrupting the RP environment created by the players around them just because they feel like having a good profit.

Well, currently there's an armory ship operating in Rheinland space that disrespects this RP law upheld by the characters that belong to the lawful Rheinland factions. This ship has been warned a number of times already by RM pilots (from whom I have the reports). At first the character seemed to cooperate and was escorted out of Rheinland space as it chose to keep the items (Note that in RP, that's already a compromise by us, we're allowing people to keep their items as long as they aren't around us. From an RP standpoint, it would make much more sense for us to ensure those items are destroyed).

This character was seen again in New Berlin's orbit infringing the same law a number of times already. Our pilots have time and again just warned him and ordered him to do something about it (destroy them or leave) and all the times this character (actually the player) has played dumb to eventually log and surface another day.

Well, today it was me again who've met him. I've laid out what I think was a pretty decent RP towards him and he threw it back at my face, fast docking at New Berlin and logging. I have a screen shot of the end of the conversation (since I unfortunately still trust everyone to withhold a minimum level of RP in this server, I don't go around taking screen shots of everything so I can frame people with sanctions).

Well, basically I told the character (in RP) that he was to either relinquish the items for destruction or leave, he said he would do so, but instead docked and logged.



The funny part is, you can see that he was ooRP saying that he needed to get out of the game, but this character had just launched from New Berlin and assumed an "open for business" position above the mooring fixture. So, how come suddenly he so conveniently need to log out? Well, I think I would give him the benefit of the doubt if I hadn't heard reports of he doing just the same to other RM pilots.

Very well... This isn't a rant, this isn't a threat, this is a public warning given by me (Gronath) to the player in question (and any other interested) that my character, Vizeadmiral Hans Krieger of the Rheinland Military and probably all characters in the RM and possibly in the RFP, bound by their RPs will seek to destroy the said vessel with extreme prejudice.

Take this warning and see that your armory ship is moved to outside of Rheinland space or that at least it isn't used when any of us are on, because these characters will destroy you without flinching. Enough is enough.

EDIT: By the way... This is a lengthy and educated way to give you this message: Don't come whining to the forums when you lose all your stuff because we've blown your ship to smithereens.
