Spending more than 20 minutes in Liberty Space, it would seem that their are not many others whom share your sentiment, as noble as it may be.
Problem is... people need to actually Role play first, which doesn't seem to happen very often. Lots of good stuff on the forums yes, but in game it all amounts to "I don't like your face... BOOM" preceding being berated in OOC by rules power gaming and rules lawyering to justify people being random jackholes.
Never said it was... just pointing out the logical fallibility in arguing that Pirates should not be able to equip anything and everything they pillage, because they happen to be Pirates.
Which leads to favoritism, perceived or real.
As an outsider, coming into Discovery it honestly leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth and a good number of the 10 people I brought with me to join discovery have in little over a week been scared away from the server a very whiny, and immature player base<strike> and a suspect and inconsistent admin team</strike>.
Your right, instead its a He said she said, who likes who and who can suck up more to get ahead, BS OOC Politics kind of deal, that many RP Community's are suseptable to.
Sure, there are a number of Non-RP'ers that are running around being Jackholes and making a nuisance out of themselves, but there are also a huge amount of RP'ers doing the exact same thing. You cant blame all your problems on a convenient scape goat, the problem goes deeper than simple "Non RP'ers Rabble rabble rabble!"
Discovery has a somewhat fragmented community where you have the old school players and those in the know on one side, and a whole bunch of new people trying to get into the server at each others throats as if somehow by being the biggest, most whiny douchbag to your fellow players will somehow get you ahead socially.
You have a whole lot of new blood vying for approval and recognition, clamoring like crabs in a bucket, clawing each other down.
This thread included.
That doesn't stop people in game from spending more time trying to tell other players what they can and cannot do than actually trying to RP, or even playing the damn game.
Remember, Comprehension is the most important part of reading.
Wow. I tip my hat off to you. Kudos.
(Don't say anything about the Admins, reasons explained privately.)
