Comm ID: Hauptmann Hagen von Seelenburg
Location: Vogtland Base
To: Flottenkommando
Subject: Week-End Report
Sehr Geehrtes Flottenkommando,
as ordered, I am here-by reporting about the armed conflicts that took place this week end.
Saturday - 0450 hours
The battle along side our Outcast allies in Omicron Eta turned out to become a victory for our side. More than 10 Corsairs died that day. Flottenkapitaen Meisnerr was leading the squad which consisted of fours Hessians:
Flottenkapitaen Meisnerr
Hauptmann von Seelenburg
Leutnant Schnitt
Leutnant Sternhammer
Everyone survived. Though, Sternhammer's Odin was destroyed. Since this is a classified report, I will have to denounce our Allies. They have the best equipment one can find in Sirius: Krakesn, Sabres, Infernos. But their fighting skills are the straight opposite. The Corsair force was almost outnumbered 2:1 and our allies even had Battleships. But only three of them made it out of the battle alive. The rumors of Cardamine enhancing your combat capabilities, is as lied as the chancellors propaganda!
Saturday - 1800 hours
After a short period of technical service, where we cleaned our Odins from the ashes and Corsair-blood and did security checks on the vital systems after the nano-bots were done with the hull, Vogtland received a distress call from Red Hessian Pirates who ran a funding operation in New Berlin, next to the s13 Jumphole. Its a shame that a whole army depends on a bunch of criminals but thats only a side-note. As officer in charge, I ordered Leutnant Schnitt to take his Odin into space again. The rest of our men where at the Omega-5 front-line or had to recover from the past battles. Since only Four Military vessels where reported, I figured that I could leave the rest of my pilots at home.
After we arrived, we faced
Viktor Zirzow | Wrath
Johann Brunhild | Wrath
Feldwebel Schulz | Snubnose
Gunther Rall | Wrath
While Leutnant Schnitt kept Rall and the Bomber busy, I could destroy the vessels of Zirzow and Brunhild within the first minutes of the battle. What appeared to be a blitz victory, turned out to become a time consuming battle with an high demand for concentration, after we switched to Rall. He was dodging most of our beams and did some vanishing tricks after his shield was down. Almost ten minutes passed, before we switched to the Bomber. After it was destroyed, we switched back to rall, who was still consumed our precious time with his evasive maneuvers. Then, the mandalorian gunboat-captain A'den Jango appeared on our scanners. He opened fire as soon as he was in weapons rage. As we were outgunned I had not choice but to order a tactical relocation to vogtland before Rall payed the mercenary. Our mission to answer the distress call of those rookie pirates and to buy them some time to make a run for it, was successful. However, this battle proved again, how the chancellors henchmen rely on the additional fire-power of Sirius' mercenaries.
Sunday 1350 hours
Red Hessian Army High Command ordered me to take two wing-men of my choice and to start a independent funding operation, since the Red Hessian Pirates tend to be unreliable in most cases and we cant afford that our new Gunboat-Project falls back behind schedule. My protest against this order was, unfortunately, overruled. So I told
Oberleutnant Gryneus and
Leutnant Schnitt
to get into their Odins. After I overruled their protests, we headed out to New Berlin, to take a look for a quick buck. Since I am a man who doesn't like to be disturbed while doing business, I decided that we somehow had to send the present Military Patrols back to the chancellor - in coffins of course. That turned out to be easier than I initially thought. Since we had no mercenaries on our long range scanners, I simply ordered my wingmen to take our tactical conversation about taking down a trade-lane into public coms. The Patrol took the bate.
Franz Rozinsky | Wrath, and
Lukas Weltzer | Snubnose
had no choice but to engage us under the unlucky circumstances of being outnumbered and Outgunned. Oberleutnant Gryneus was smart enough to mount a CD before I could even order it, so we also had a tactical advantage. Rzinsky's Wrath was destroyed with ease, since Oberleutnant Gryneus seemd to focus more on destroying my mines with CDs than heating up his Natterns. The strategy was a full success. The Wrath was destroyed by one of my mines that couldn't catch him, but got blown up by Gryneus' CD. Wetzer's Bomber, however, turned out to be a tougher nut to crack. I heard stories about him at vogtland's bar quite some times, so I gave the strict order to never joust him directly. Since Weltzer had no Minirazor mounted and couldn't pose a threat to our mostly full shielded Odins, it was only a matter of time until his vessel got destroyed.
Again, the Hessian Army left a battlefield victorious. We had an easy time to squeeze 6 million out of two traders and get the niobiums of one trader that refused to donate to our noble cause afterwards. Mission Accomplished.
Sunday 1500 hours
After our Squad returned to Vogtland, my wingmen seemed to be highly motivated to finally have real action in omega-5 since we had to annoy our selfs by dealing with traders for the past hour. So I delivered the supplies and successfully requested permission to reinforce the Omega-5 frontline with our squad.
I instantly contacted the officer in charge at Ronneburg to get informations about how the situation was. To my surprise, it was rather calm. Both sides stayed behind the lines to prepare them selfs for the next battle. The silence before the next storm.
We never liked the thought of enemies preparing for battle. As I knew about the capabilities of those Hessian Soldiers under my command, I didn't hesitate to order them to fly straight though the love-nest and to attack Corsair patrols along the stinkers front-line. After they didn't accept our generous offer of soap-supplies, we destroyed the first patrol which consisted of two Bombers. Just as I was about to order our relocation to Ronneburg after I appraised the past victory as a successful hit-and-run mission, another escort who wanted to reinforce his destroyed comrades cached our glimps. We engaged him, but as no one would have expected it else from such a coward Schweinehund, He fled to the Omega-41 Jump-hole. I got wary of the situation. Could it be a trap? It could, but we would never have forgiven our selfs to let a clear kill off the hook. Arrived at the hole, he finally decided to show some guts and started to fight. Only shortly after he was destroyed, A Gunboat with fighter support came over from 41. Nothing big. I ordered our Oberleutnant Gryneus and Leutnant Schnitt to destroy the gunboat. Luckily, its can-opner loadout didnt pose a threat. It was destroyed after less than 20 minutes. Meanwhile, several other corsair fighters came to reinforce their pathetic Comrades.
Hessians are well known for their dry, cold and brutally calculating mentality. But after we saw the explosion of the gunboat, we got bitten by a blood rush.
The wrath of our weapons did the rest of the talking. We were swarmed by a battlegroup of at lest 5 corsair fighters. After we destroyed three, at least two other fighters/bombers, they were soon reinfoced by a corsair gunboats and another fighter patrol. I ordered the Leutnant and the Oberleutnant to take down the gunboat while I successfully focused on resupplying them with Nano-bots and Shield-batteries from the enemy titans. After a second enemy gunboat entered the fight, I had no choice but to order a tactical relocation to the Hessian side of the omega-5 front-line to lurk the fighter support away from the capital ships, and deal with the lunch boxes afterwards. Just when we had the Hessian tear Norman Ludewig on our scanners, I had to witness the destruction of Leutnant Schnitt's Odin, after he received fatal hits from the gunboats. Apparently, he didn't use his bots fast enough. Since my cargo-hold was already full with corsair prisoners, Oberleutnant Gryneus managed to successfully loot in the escape pod of Schnitt. Only two corsair fighters manged to fallow us to our side of the fronline, one got destroyed, the other one ran into the heart of the lovenest, where the remnants of the battlegroup we fought already waited for their destruction. As one of the Gunboats seemed to have a Cruse engine malfunction, it was ordered to leave the fight by his superiors. By his stinking superiors, one may add.
The battle in the heart of the love-nest didn't go well for the Corsairs: The stinking gringos lost another fighter and the gunboat. Unfortunately, the Gunboat's missiles managed to strip down the 9s of Gryneus' and my Odin. We finshed the GB off with our razors and relocated to Freital base, Omega 11.
After we both fast-mounted six Zweis, we engaged the remains of the corsair fleet that was destroyed by three Odins. Those (stinking) remains consisted of one Eagle and an OPG-Bomber. The eagle was destroyed in a matter of seconds. The Omega Pirate however, had to hit the hole after 10 minutes, as his vessel suffered major damages and was not capable to regenerate its self with Nano-bots anymore.
After the last corsair fled, me and Oberleutnant Gryneus returned to Vogtland. We ordered the residual recruits to get the corsair prisoners out of our cargo holds. I ordered the execution of 6 of them right away on the hangar deck. Two others are interrogated the moment you are reading this report. We pulled Leutnant Schnitt out of his pod our selfs. It took many Rheinalnd Pilsner to dry our fire at the bar. To stop the shaking of our hands. To stop recalling our victories and think about why we are fighting in the first place.
Sunday 2400 hours
After having a sleep for maybe 3 Hours, Flottenkapitan Meisnerr threw me out of the bed. Ten minutes later, I found my self in the Hessian bomber "Stuka" in a squad led by the Flottenkapitaen (flying the Bomber "Wuerger") along side Rekrut Furchtlos and von Richtoven. Our mission to destoy a Rheinland Military gunboat that actually dared to fly into Dresden's space, could not be executed as it ran to New Berlin, after picking up our Bomber Squad on Long-Range Scanners.
Conclusions and Suggestions
The "piloting skills" of our Outcast allies, brought me to the conclusion that we must NEVER allow Cardamine in Rheinland space. This .... drug is to much of a risk, not just for the Hessians but for all Rheinland civilians.
We leave almost every battlefield that was shared with the Rheinland Military victorious. However, if mercenaries get involved, we often have to make a run for it. I suggest to get to the table with the bigger Mercenary armies like the Mandalorians. In this case, another step to the revolution has nothing but a simple price-tag.
The Rheinland Military becomes weaker every day that passes by. The rotten smell of the decaying pillars of the chancellors power is undeniable. We MUST take advantage of this situation by establishing a tactical outpost in Neu Berlin's asteroid fields, after our gunboat project is done.
Even the most pessimistic Hessian knows that the fall of the chancellor is at hand. Red Hessian Army high command should start to work on a plan to make the revolution as clean and fast as possible and keep the people of Rheinalnd out of chaos. Also, the phase of RHA's High Command ruling Rheinland should be kept as short as possible. A Democracy must be maintained within a year. We know what happened last time, sirs. We must not repeat it, and be prepared.
I am heavily impressed by the piloting skill and motivation of Oberleutnant Gryneus and Leutnant Schnitt. All I can say is that I am proud to have these men under my command, as they always reliably execute every order/corsair by using their best knowledge and consciousness. The promotion of Leutnant Schnitt is an obligation in my eyes. Oberleutnant Gryneus now deserves to get the command of a squad more often to enhance his commanding capabilities and soon be decorated as Hauptmann.
Mit Kameradschaftlichen Gruessen,
Hautpmann von Seelenburg.
