Both please.
' Wrote:-Can- being the operative word there, not has to be. I know for a fact there are several groups that do it well, I was merely pointing out the fact that it's very open to exploitation. Contrary to what Daedric says I'm not actually biased, in fact I don't think the exempting Zoner 5ks makes a lot of sense. To me it seems like that sort of thing should be left to roleplay if houses want to keep large zoner transports from docking.
My concern is that jump trading Zoners are unbalancing the trading factions. For instance we now have several Zoner indie groups that jump trade while many corporate trading factions are within sight of the 30 hour minimum.
Aight. I've spoken with you so please don't take this as me attacking you. Just pointing some things out.
You've contradicted yourself in this thread. You said Zoners need more restrictions, then said the only restriction they have should be removed. Pick one and stick with it! Me? The 'no docking in house space' restriction should stick. Otherwise house corps will lose peopel because the Zoner ID will be an Indy Trader ID with no restrictions, just like it used to be. Yes, I am aware my faction has a Zoner ID without said restriction and I know some will say I'm being elitist or bias in the matter. I will admit bias, but I feel that I along with every OSI member has worked our butts off for the past 2 years and deserve the ID we have. Clearly, both the admin team and the dev team agreed.
Jump trading is open to exploitation by any and everyone. Doesn't matter which ID they have. Just requires a group to do it (as does all jump trading). Anyone can grab a battleship and jump a group of transports around. Does Zoner role play lend itself to jump trading? For sure; for two reasons:
1. Battleship access
2. Zoner lore and role play - That is they live and operate in areas where very little laws is enforced.
House Corps on the other hand live and operate in areas with tons of red tape and don't have access to a battleship. This doesn't mean Zoners are unbalancing trade factions as you've claimed. It merely one of three things happens:
1. People grab a battleship and jump trade ignoring in role play house laws. This can be considered good and bad role play depending on how it is executed. Typically this is done using Zoner stuff for the above stated reason.
2. House corps work with the house governments to make jump trading legal and get access to battleship jumpers. Gallia, Rheinland, and Kusari have done this.
3. House Corps don't bother role playing to resolve the matter and thus either do 1. or don't jump trade
Truth of the matter is, jump trading itself is unbalancing and needs to be fixed. I'm also of the opinion a commercial jump ship needs to be implemented so trade factions don't have to use battleships.
