I agree with most statements regarding more RP required with Bounty Hunter capital ships especially. I pilot a Bounty Hunter battleship myself, and am attempting to RP as much as possible. But when an Order pilot calls you a 'bastard' (or to that effect...forget the exact wording) when i politely asked him to release the Bounty Hunter pilots he had on-board, my trigger finger can get a bit happy...
As far as i know, Bounty Hunter capital ships were made to protect the outer sectors, and since we can't enter central systems (like many other BS's), its not exactly easy to complete bounty missions. If i run into a pirate, i don't usually engage unless he is of cruiser or higher class, or if the target is plundering innocent traders. Don't be so quick to accuse Bounty Hunters of being the only 'capwhores'. Ive been confronted by Corsair Dreadnaughts and Order Osiris' in Delta especially who will simply say 'Surrender your crew and ship to us'. And was teamed up on by 2 order osiris' and a corsair cruiser in Delta, who seemingly RP'd it until the second i left the safety of the Freeport, and they said 'Open fire'.
I know many of you have been attacked by Bounty Hunter 'capwhores', even by my character, but the main reason that many bounty hunter capital ships are so trigger-happy is that they are usually out in the rim sectors by themselves, without any other support. We don't really have a 'clan' network or anything, whereas corsairs, order and outcasts alike all have a support network, in which they call in support when needed. I can't count the number of times i have let a pirate pass purely out of the goodness in my heart, only to find he comes back minutes later with an armada.
Personally, i'd like to see a better support network for BH ships, and for them to be tagged with [BHG] at the front of their names (i'm working on my name right now), so other people can tell who they we and not be left guessing for who to go to when asking for a bounty to be placed on another player's head. Hopefully then we can successfully recognize other Bounty Hunters, and group together to better RP attacks and patrols.
