It has to be a replication process, not triggering "brain-split" which commonly in cluster systems mean severe issues. Parallels between Discovery and those can be easily done. It also depends on the intention of the faction creator, if the intention is to deliberately cause "brain-split" then I will not allow inconsistencies leading to nodes conflicting with each other over information to occur within the system.
So you think that if the faction grows to encompass another group, it'll cause severe issues with the game, the RP, the players affected, and the present Nomad factions? Is that all you think people can do, destroy what is already in place?
Like you said, it took time and effort to make a faction like the Keepers. While I agree that a new Nomad faction would take much time and effort, if someone decided to go through with it then what makes you think that they can't or won't do so? If they fail to make it good, then you guys don't publish it. Simple as that.
You said yourself that your idea started from nothing, when people thought it wasn't at all a good idea. So why are you trying to stop this idea from starting somewhere, and saying that it's pointless to try since it could affect you. No matter what you say, that's what I call "selfish". Even if you try to justify it by saying it could affect more than just the Nomads, which albeit could be true, the fact remains that you're worried that your time and effort will rot because of this.
The idea in itself has much room for improvement, but that's where the time and effort part comes in. I say that you're being close-minded on this.
To Tenacity people who think that the Keepers are at fault for rejecting the idea as soon as it was published, which although may be true, remind yourself that Tenacity doesn't have the best reputation with the Nomad factions. No offense, but his attitude after them not accepting him into their ranks doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
Also, the idea, like mentioned before, could definitely use some work on it; however, I do not think that it is unachievable. If you put proper effort into something, it will flourish.
In the end, it's best to try to look from both points of view; I definitely say that this is worth a shot, though. Tenacity and other interested people could write the RP, the rules for the faction, the diplomacy, and all the rest, then hand it over to Igiss or whoever takes care of these things (I'm not exactly up to date on these things, I'm afraid). If the work isn't satisfactory, then it would be rejected at the time. Until then, I think automatic rejection of the idea is completely close-minded and that it deserves a shot.
EDIT: Great... I only manage to finish my post once the discussion is over. Just my luck.
