I don't see the RP in running 90% of the time. Sure, you may RP an old accomplished convoy captain who knows when to run and when to fight back, but most freighter/transport captains aren't going to put their lives on the line. Think about it, if someone came up to mug you on the street, would you give him your wallet, or RUN AWAYYY!!!
