I'm not whining, bud, I'm defending my idea. If I were whining I'd be going 'THAT'S NOT FAAAAAAIR!'. Instead I'm providing a logical defense.
Also, it's not MY baby. It's the Outcast Destroyer, and Xing, quite frankly, does not fly one, is not an Outcast, and is not in touch with what the Outcast player base wants. As I would no longer attempt to create a credible replacement for the Corsair Dreadnought, I would expect others on the opposite side of the fence to do the same for us. I like Xing's work, but quite frankly I don't think he gets the Borderworlds line, judging by the way his last Sabre redesign came out:
You know, it might look cool, but really now, it's a porcupine, and that doesn't go well with the Outcast motif. It's too dark, too fanciful. That's not a Sabre Mk II-it's a Phantom ship. The Outcasts try to find beauty in minimalism, which is what I try to impart in my ships. The basic frame is a little uncomfortable on paper, but whence I put it into 3ds and come out with a finished draft I think people will warm up to it considerably. On top of that, I am responsible for literally every capship the Outcasts will fly in the next version except, at this point, the Destroyer. You have three ships of Eppy all in a nice little row, looking perfect, and then BAM! This wierd, out-of-step thing created on completely different design principals pops in. It's like watching a line of marines drilling with, say, Richard Simmons teaching aerobics in the middle of it (not that Xing's ships are to be equated with Richard Simmons, but you get my point). Xing is a great modeler, a lot more qualified than me in most other fields, but his style, design principles and experience are the wrong ones for the job. Mine, on the other hand, have built every other ship in the line. Therefore...
Oh, and get used to the crosses. All the other houses have their little flags-why shouldn't the Outcasts?
I've said this isn't a detailed model. Don't tell me about personification, I've already covered that base adequately, thank you very much.
