Something i forgot to write in the post:
Make the corridor 3D. Not like most on freelancer that is at the same "altitude" of the ecliptic of the planets..
I know that the station are on the same ecliptic because they orbit (or follow orbits) the planets or the star. But remember that the system i propose is the place of a cataclism, so the orblit of the station may have been altered by a collition or gravimetric forces...
