' Wrote:There are goods in some systems/Houses which are produced for a domestic market.
The prime example is MOX, produced on LD-14 in Bretonia. Other Bretonian bases and battleships should be buying it, since it's the fuel they're supposed to use.
As far as your character is concerned, the npcs are doing the transporting for these local markets. I primarily focused on exports for two reason : it's necessary in order to get traders moving between the Houses, and I had over 2,000 prices to calculate end encode and 9 months was barely enough time to get it done in.
However, I am willing to include low prices to simulate a local market, although the profits and relative profitabilities will be substantially lower than exports. I do not have time to do this without the following assistance though :
Give me a spreadsheet (preferably with google docs) that lists data in the following columns :
Starting Base name | Ending Base name | Base code (ie :li01_01_base) | total distance in seconds from production facility to buying facility
Distance in seconds can be calculated from the Authorship Tools button in Freelancer Companion. First make sure that the settings are all default except that Average Cruise speed is set to 349. Then hit the Authorship Tools button and dump the data to a csv file. Then open the file in Notepad (spreadsheets probably won't import the entire thing), and you can run CNTRL-F searches to find the distance from any single base to any other base. First type into the search bar the base code you are starting from followed by "," then the base code that you want to "go to". So a search for the time in between Planet New London and Planet Manhattan would look exactly like this : li01_01_base","br01_01_base
The time in milliseconds is displayed at the end of each line, so you have to divide by 1000 to get total seconds (just ignore the last 3 zeros). And obviously, you have to have 4.85 activated to get the correct distance times.
So for example, a spreadsheet for Mox in Bretonia would look like this ( I'm making up numbers because I can't access them from work at the moment).
LD 14 | Battleship Suffolk | br01_##_base | 345
If anyone gives me that information as I described for a commodity, I can fairly quickly calculate the necessary prices. I'm willing to do that for most of the major commodities, subject to balance limitations. What will not happen is the creation of more places to buy the commodities from, that is the fastest way to glitch the system and destroy the viability of the routes for it. Those few commodities that have many places where you can buy the commodity took hours and hours to balance out, and it only works under limited conditions.
Anyone wanting to do this should contact me first to make sure that their commodity choice is a viable option for this (send me a PM), but I can give you a go ahead on MOX now, for both Bretonia and Rheinland.
Yeah, I did this for all 2,000 prices, twice, because the first time was glitched. Enjoy.
