At approxomately 11:00 hours today, Airwatch recived a signal about Kirestu and NovaPG forces engaging a BHK tagged Battleship class entity. Airwatch augmentation force was dispatched.
Airwatch did not recive beacon from the Kiretsu units. The 'Kishin' and 'Keisotsu' designates had already been defeated, and the NovaPG vessel soon followed. Airwatch forces supported the remaining Kiretsu unit and began standoff bombardment of the fleeing vessel. Additional Dragon and SOB entities engaged as well.
Enemy warship bore unusual transponder codes. Apparently a Rhineland Military IFF signal and Kiretsu units reported a standard BHG ID as opposed to the GUARD ID which is usual for their capital warships. Indiffrent to this, we pressed the attack at range, where the warship's weaponry would not track.
The warship began to flee into a nearby gas nebula. It's defense screen had failed, and it was losing structural integrity fast. Despite this, it managed to dispatch one of the SOB units. This did not change it's tactical odds. Continued engagement ultimately destroyed the vessel's coolant nodes, and it's reactor began to go critical.
We attempted to recover any surviving personell, but our efforts were hampered by the disrupting effects of the cloud, and presance of the GMG. We did manage to get approximately 120 personell off of the BHK vessel. They have been interned. The command crew is unaccounted for, it is presumed they either died in the explosion or escaped into GMG custody.
This should be a textbook case of what to do in the case of large capital ships. As well as what NOT to do.
DO: Engage at standoff range with Supernova cannons or equivelent weapons
Engage with overwhelming force
Keep Tactical Fighters at range, or if in a worst case scenario, as sacrificial distraction/harassment assets
Keep enemy units seperated, and well distant from one another
Manuver erratically when at range
Maintain Communication and Co-ordination with friendlies at all times
DO NOT: Enter accurate weapon/CIWS range of enemy capital vessels
Use the same attack vector
Attack with less then 3 bombers or with an equivelent force as backup
Move Tactical Fighters anywhere near target ship's firing solution (They are to stay far distant to cover in case of enemy re-inforcement)
