It also seems that your embargo is affecting our Zoner personnel on FP2 in Bering. Some seem to think that to to "prevent" us from going into Rheinland that we are to be stopped from going to the Freeport altogether. I think that snag needs to be worked out.
Doc
This Freeport has been the center of much controversy concerning the embargo. A possible solution would be to escort the trader to the Freeport, have him sell the cargo and then have the officer to inspect the cargo bay to ensure there's nothing left on board. Laws take time to change however and until we can work out an agreement, the Freeport may suffer due to this embargo.

Hmmm... I don't know about this stance Liberty is taking. We in Kusari observe a kind overlook to Gaijin blokcade runners. If you're brave, lucky or downright dumb enough to break through Bretonian lines in an effort to bolster the Emperor's might, we see no need to infringe on that. Unless you're Bretonian, hauling restricted items, or dumb enough to be both. Some common sense on your officer's part is all it takes to see if they're bringing in any "spies" or sabotage equipment.

Although this strategy may work in principle, it relies solely on scanning technology. Although it is extremely difficult to essentially "trick" this technology, it is possible. If just one transport was allowed through with, for example, nuclear ordinates on board and the scanning technology was somehow fooled, this could lead to devastation in Liberty.

Quote:Ha, you idiots still ain't learned a damn thing have ya? Back in the day it was weapon licensing, now it's a total embargo on all goods entering or exiting Rheinland.
That's fine, your citizens will still cry out for goods Rheinland produces and they'll still get em. After all that's what the Rogues are for, everything the law won't allow you to have.
So if you folks want goods shipped in all you got to do is hit up any Rogue and we'll handle all your shipping needs, for a fee of course.
Meanwhile think of all that taxable income you silly bastards are losing out on.
Seriously you folks haven't got a sodding clue.
Sylpheed out.
I'm sure the proud citizens of Liberty would prefer to miss out on a few luxuries than support the very people that are hell-bent on destroying us. Good luck though, we'll be waiting at the border for you.
>Ethics of the Embargo
Quote:This embargo is the heighth of stupidity. Long ago we set out on a course away from this kind of governmental oversight and abuse. We fought to the destruction of our own home world, and still we have not learned the lessons of human nature.
Man is inherently born FREE.
Our rights are not given to us by governments, they are part of the nature of our existence.
Somewhere along the line a couple of enterprising bloaks decided that they would create this thing called 'credit' which in truth is nothing but a notion.
True worth and value are established between two folks looking to work a deal. I'll give you A for B... simple barter. Somehow we, the free people of the universe, have allowed this corrupt thing called 'credit' to enslave us; because we NEED credits to function in this environment... or so we've been told.
My issue with this embargo has nothing to do with the nature of conflict between houses, it has everything to do with the economic pain inflicted upon innocents affected by your gross decision.
Simply put, if the governments of Liberty and Rheinland are going to force their citizens to live under this universal system of credit then you need to step out of the way and allow your citizens to earn those credits in whatever manner they see fit to do so.
Zoner Meiun,
out.
"Allow your citizens to earn those credits in whatever manner they see fit to do so" - You would suggest to obtain credits by any means possible? Pick-pocketing? Robbing banks? Killing people for money? Pirating? That sounds more like anarchy than a stable nation. The role of the government is to provide protection and support to its citizens. Laws are made and enforced to keep the entire nation happy, not just a few citizens who want to make a fast buck.
In conclusion, the embargo will not change to suit the needs of the few. The Liberty government in partnership with the armed forces took much time deliberating over this embargo. As long as we are at war with Rheinland, the embargo stays.
