In teory, if a star turns into a black hole, the planets would not be sucked into it. Unless they orbits radium are smaller than Schwartzchild radius of the star. (Named after Karl Schwartzchild)
As an example, in the center of our galaxy, it is believed that supermassive black hole exists. It is arround 7.8million kilometers in diameter.
