The Kingdom of Bretonia currently regulates the movement of certain commodities in order to protect the welfare and prosperity of the Bretonian people.
Some of these commodities are deemed contraband, the transmission of which will carry the full penalty of law.
Others are restricted, meaning exemptions to restrictions may be in effect for prescribed organisations. Qualifying parties may also apply for licenses to transport restricted commodities as set out below.
Carrying a restricted commodity without an exemption or licence is an offence. Bretonian law enforcement agencies are exempt from licensing requirements by default.
2 - Eligibility and Conditions
Licenses can be awarded on an individual or corporate / group basis. License-holders must be fit and proper persons, meaning the license may be voided by any bearer infringing the Bretonian Charter of Interstellar Law or otherwise acting improperly.
Applicants must provide their name and the name of the group they represent (if applicable), and a description of their purpose for obtaining the license.
Applicants must evidence that they are in good standing (green reputation) with Bretonia's law enforcement authorities such as the BAF and BPA.
Applicants must evidence that they are hostile (red reputation) to Bretonia's domestic enemies such as the Coalition, Corsairs, Gaians, Mollys, Outcasts and Pirates.
Awarded licences are temporary and last for 6 months from the point of registration being accepted.
All licencing fees must be sent to QCG|HMS-Dauntless.

3 - Licenses
3.1 - Exotic Lifeforms Licence
Covers: Gaian Wildlife.
Individual Licence: £100,000
Corporate Licence: £300,000
Due to the current sensitivity regarding access to Planet Gaia, and concerns about the welfare of creatures removed from that ecosystem, the Exotic Lifeforms Licence was created to provide a regulatory framework for their responsible transportation, study and care.
Covers: Cigars, Cryocubes, Enfer Blasters, Gate and Trade Lane Parts (Gallia), Holotainment Bands.
Individual Licence: £50,000
Corporate Licence: £150,000
The Gallic Embargo renders it an offence to conduct trade with entities associated with the Gallic Union, or procure goods in a manner that will profit the Gallic Union. The Appropriation Licence was created as a certification scheme to allow the transport of seized Gallic goods, or those obtained from sources that would not economically benefit Gallia itself.

Due to the extreme ramifications of these commodities falling into the wrong hands, a special license has been created to cover the secure shipment of Military Materials within Bretonian Space.
Ongoing pioneering efforts in the Edge Nebula and other uncharted territories have resulted in the discovery of ancient alien ruins and potentially dangerous resources. The Special Xenoarchaeology License governs the safe transport, storage and study of these materials in Bretonian space.
3.1 - Alien Biomatter, Equipment and Weapons Licence
Covers: AI Cores, AI Weapons, Nomad Remains, Nomad Power Cells, Nomad Weapons.
Individual Licence: £300,000
Corporate Licence: £1,200,000
The Nomads and Artificial Intelligence pose an existential threat to humanity. Research efforts are essential to mitigating these threats, however their intrinsic peril means such activities must be tightly regulated and supervised. The existence of this licence remains classified to avoid public awareness of the Nomads' existence, and may be offered by Government or Intelligence officials to trusted partners conducting relevant activities.
