Edward Caine steps into the Commander's office. He had been withholding his application until the Commander's return.
"I wanted to give this to you personally, sir," he said in a calm patient tone.
"I apologize to your secretary for the cheekiness earlier. Rough day in the factory. I'm ready to move on with my life."
The application read:

Brief History of yourself and your family: (//I know, not really brief. It was too fun to write though)
Im a bit of an odd case it seems. As you may or may not have guessed, I am half Libertonian. You see, my father was a member of the Liberty Police, and my mother was a university student from Cambridge studying to be a teacher. They met while my mother was studying abroad. I was born on Philadelphia station where I lived for a few years until my father was killed in the line of duty by a band of Corsairs. Apparently, they felt they could take advantage of the resulting chaos from the Nomad War... I was only about 3 at the time.
Well, my mother, who barely knew anyone else in Liberty, decided it was safer and in our best interest to return to her family in Cambridge to raise me. She renewed her citizenship and got citizenship for me as well.
My mother pressed academics on me as my sole priority, and as I suspect, to make sure I never had any interest in joining the military or law enforcement. For the most part, it worked. I was one of the best students in secondary school (particularly in mathematics and science), however, I was often teased by classmates for my peculiar accent and petite stature.
Upon graduating, I was accepted to the finest university on Cambridge, but I felt it wasnt for me. I was tired of being teased for who I was so I decided to prove my resilience to my classmates and moved to Leeds where I worked for several years in the factories, getting physically in shape in the process. My mother, of course, was not pleased with my decision, especially due to the fact that she was a teacher herself. I wanted to prove to everyone else, and mostly to myself, that I could trudge through the dirt, grime, and grease that they feared having to do after being brought up in an affluent and high-class part of society.
It wasnt until one of my former classmates, Robert Rhodes, found me during a routine stop in his transport and suggested I join the military. He and his brother had worked for BMM after graduating so it was no coincidence that I would bump into him again on Leeds. He told me all about how the Kusari presence in the Taus stagnates progress in the company. It was then I realized I could do so much more good than what I was doing. I now had an opportunity to help out an old friend, my fellow countrymen, but most importantly (to me) an opportunity to follow in my fathers footsteps in service to my country. Needless to say, my mother wasnt pleased (she fainted when I told her over the computer intercom).
I can be a bit hot-heated, sir (No doubt an inherited trait from that of my Libertonian father). But luckily, my educated upbringing has given me the ability to temper it.
Previous Medical History: No significant ailments.
Combat experience: 80 hours in the flight simulator. Its not really combat, but Im looking forward to some real training.
Reasons for signing up for the Armed Forces: As I mentioned before; service to my countrymen and friends, to pay homage to my fathers memory, and to prove to myself that I can do it.

Are you transferring from the reserve fleet? If yes, why are transferring. If no, please explain where you're transferring from:
Well, Im not really transferring from any fleet. If anything Im transferring out of the factory. I only have a small civilian ship to get me around.
Caine sat back in the opposing chair, watching the Commander mull over his application.
He wasn't sure what to expect, but was eagerly anticipating his response...
