Greetings, brothers.
Today we have once again shown vigilance against the terrible Nomad threat lurking deep within the confines of our own space. Freital sensors have picked up a pair of classic Military craft acting erratically in Omega-11. Myself currently testing out my Sabre in Omega-5, I decided to lead the hunting party myself. I contacted Herr Waap who was in Dresden at the moment, and we tried to box the Wilde in in Omega-7 before they managed to hit anything there.
I was lucky, as I quickly encountered the Wilde bomber and light fighter nearby the Omega-7 jump gate, and engaged them without further ado. I fought strong with my mind impenetrable to their tricks, until Florian arrived in his Loki, pressing the advantage further for us in that skirmish. The alien filth were sure of themself this time around, and lost one of their precious bomber craft as a result.
The remaining Wilde fighter decided to make a run for it soon after that. Despite our pursuit, its speed and agility allowed it to disappear in an uncharted system before we managed to destroy him. I am doubtless though that we will have our chance at it soon enough, regardless.
We didn't bother with exploration of the system, as Ronneburg picked up a new series of readings, this time coming from Omega-41. It seemed that the blasted Corsair cannibals were following a few unidentified fighters, and our wing now consisting of myself, Oberleutnant Waap and Rekrut Barring decided to investigate. Reaching the Omega-41 jump hole, we were immediately graced with a sight to behold: a single alien fighter trying to make its way through our system! We pursued relentlessly, as the Corsair fleet behind it never even jumped to Omega-5, likely either misled by this trickster or simply afraid of a possible confrontation with our glorious forces. Regardless, the alien shown almost unnatural agility, and despite our best efforts it managed to make its escape into one of the jump holes scattered in the system.
No matter, we know the connections in and out of here well. It is doubtless that should they try to escape or attack, we will bite back at them with a force greater than theirs, and ensure that their like never threatens the Fatherland ever again. Our wing retired on Ronneburg for the night, leaving the job to the bases' improved sensors. We will continue patrols in the morning.
