Message to: RHA Command Comm ID: Oberleutnant Florian Waap Location: Ronneburg base, Omega-5
I have recovered faster than I could have hoped. The medics on Vogtland gave me the all clear, so I immediately went to the hangers. My Thor was not yet prepared, so I took a shuttle to Ronneburg to collect my Loki and then headed for Stuttgart, as there were reports of a corsair presence there. On jumping into the system I was greeted by Ernst Neurath, who was also hunting the corsair.
As I jumped one of the lanes near the Omega-7 gate, a hostile contact whipped past me, which I assumed was the corsair we were chasing. I exited the lane, and contacted Ernst to advise my location. As I headed for the Omega-7 gate a member of the RSS flying a Wraith, a Sgt Stark, popped out of the lane close to my location. Ernst was close to Stuttgart, so I cruised in that direction, running parallel to the lanes.
Ernst took the lane towards my location, then jumped out of the lane some distance behind the RSS pilot, while I continued leading him towards Stuttgart. We knew we had him trapped now, so I left cruise, and turned to engage the pilot. Ernst swiftly arrived, and together we downed the Wraith in short order, Ernst getting the killing shots as the Wraith jousted him.

With the military out of the way we decided to pursue the corsair into Omega-7. Once in the system, we split up to search the area. We were unable to locate the corsair, but ran across a military gunboat that was patrolling the trade lanes. He attemped to challenge us, and tried to force us to leave, but the gunboat can never catch a Loki! We evaded him easily, and on a tip-off, moved to Omega-3, where the corsair had been spotted. I discovered him undocking from the IMG base there, and challenged him, while Ernst rushed to my location.
The behaviour of the corsair was distinctly odd. He made no threatening manoeuvers, and just stayed at maximum impulse speed, heading directly for the sun. Ernst demanded to know his reasons for having been spotted close to Vogtland earlier. The corsair replied that he had been meeting a contact there, an obvious lie. Still heading for the sun, the corsair asked to be allowed to dive into the sun, spouting some religious gibberish. Thoroughly confused, we backed off, and watched as he entered the sun's corona, and the ship started to burn up.
Just as we expected to witness the destruction of the ship, a Praetorian bomber, he obviously activated his nanobots, and changed his direction in an obviously calculated attempt to escape us. Realising we had been duped - who would have thought that a Praetorian could survive a sun's corona? - we pursued him again, as he made a break for Bretonian space. We jumped into the Cambridge system via the jump hole, and continued our pursuit towards the IMG base there.
My initial worry was that he would dock there and escape us, but he instead took the lanes towards the Norfolk. This allowed us to catch up with him, and as he attempted to skirt the Norfolk we were finally able to engage. The fight didn't last long, which was fortunate as BAF pilots started to launch to intercept us. A well placed razor shot of mine finished off the corsair just as the first BAF pilot arrived at our position.

He demanded that we leave Bretonian space, which we naturally agreed to, not wanting to provoke that particular hornet's nest, and headed for Omega-5 and Ronneburg base.
