It was an eventful day today. I have been dispatched by the Brigadegeneral to Casablanca to inspect their defensive procedures. Square in the middle of the excersize, the base sensors picked up signatures of both the Corsairs and Rheinland Military vessels, which could only mean one thing: The Wilde. I took command of the Von Rohe at once, and summoned two more bombers from Omega-5 to help me deal with the threat. While the Corsair was being his usual lunatic self, I managed to intercept the Wilde ship on the way to Omega-5, which turned out to simply be a fairly modern Rheinland gunboat. I ordered the Von Rohe helm to pursue the gunboat, while the two bombers made their way with the Corsair cruiser. The Montezuma-Kukulcan soon fell to their torpedoes, and both bombers made their way back to Ronneburg.
Meanwhile, my chase was long and arduous. The infested captain of the gunboat knew well that he was faster than me, and despite the Von Rohe having several chances at hitting him, he continued to evade fire. I realised that due to his superior speed, he will eventually escape me in the asteroids, if help doesn't arrive quickly. I contacted Freital for help, and soon enough Herr Langburg in the bomber Wuerger, and Herr Ackart onboard the RHGB Panther responded. As my pursuit came closer and closer to the Omega-41 jump hole, I ordered the Panther and Wuerger to set a trap in Omega-11, predicting that that was the intended destination of the infested gunboat.
My predictions were in fact 100% correct, and as the alien was intercepted by our bomber in Omega-11, I was finally able to catch up and dispatch it from up close. It is regretful that my attempts at forcing the captain of the gunboat to surrender were unsuccessful, regardless the Wilde possess one less gunboat to threaten Rheinland with and that is what counts the most.
