Before too much activity is generated by this event on the forums, I think it would be best to announce the intentions.
The core of this event is quite simple, a joint ALG/DSE operation to clean up the Pittsburgh Debris Field. The field poses an imminent threat to Planet Pittsburgh and DSE operations in general, but this initiative would likely not have been taken without the public attention and pressure in recent times. This sudden increase in attention may be closely related to the stream of refugees from Planet Leeds.
Opposition to the opporation will come in the form of Junkers and Rogues and we would also like to get Xenos involved in some form, though they so far not been part of the planning process. The nature of the opposition is varied, with each faction feeling that the scrap is theirs in one manner or another: the Junkers want it for profit, the Rogues to build a cottage, and the Xenos feel wronged by ALG doing the cleaning. This is the way I see it and the reason for wanting to involve them, though the authoritative factions will naturally develop their own attitudes; the important thing being that I think whatever attitude they have they will likely be involved.
UPDATE: The Xeno Alliance is now directly involved.
The LPI is being hired to sit in their Patriots close by, to counter any opposition.
The actual event has two parts, an economy event a la Xoria and a coherent event or event series. The coherent events will be open to any character or faction with an interest at stake and the economy event will be even more so. The coherent events will of course be more organized to ensure balanced participation, therefore anyone wishing to be involved will need to post their interest here.
With such a large number of factions, it will likely be difficult to fit everyone into the same events. We will split the events up for varying faction make-ups, perhaps so as to simulate the relatively complex inter-faction attitudes. How they will be split up has not been decided yet, and we will need a guage of participation before we do.
