LPI Bomber

Frankly I suggest the following approach to the LPI bomber.

a ship about the size of defender, about the same flight characterstics as the gladiator.
4 class 10 guns
1 dedicated CD slot
1 torp slot
mine/CM
VHF power plant.
class 9 shield

It is basically used to stop incoming smugglars (cd) and damage them (aka Razor)
Take on ships like greyhound. I dont believe LPI should get a full fledged bomber.
That is Navy's job....lets distinguish the two a little.

As for the model....um.. yeah its a preggo. May be try putting two partiot fusalages side by side and the two slots (CD/Torp) in the middle one on top of another.

Here's my comment: no.

When the LPI first started to get bombers, we tried out the dual-Razors on Havocs, just to make people happy that we weren't cops packing bazookas. We quickly discovered that, surprise of surprise, that setup was useless against anything bigger than a bomber.

If the LPI wants anti-fighter, we'll fly Liberators. If we want to stop smugglers, we'll fly Grizzlies/Liberators. We don't need a bomber dedicated to interdicting smugglers -- we need one that can take out the capital ships. Believe it or not, the LPI is a very competent police force equipped to face all threats. The SWAT team has responded en masse to Rheinland Battleship incursions into Texas. Navy's job? Not necessarily -- they attack, we don't. However, we reserve the right to defend against invasions for public safety.

Excuse me for saying so, but the LPI has come a long way from donut-munching roflcops to be the premier private security force in Sirius. And if/when we get our bomber, you're basically giving us... a Greyhound with an extra CD slot? Lovely. Just... lovely.

Give our bomber four class 9 gunslots if you want, but it sure as hell better be able to launch a SNAC. Not asking for dual-wielding SNAC fire, I'm asking for a bomber that can fire a SNAC. Not a terribly big request.
