Brian McNabb sat at his desk at the New London Police Station, when his terminal stated to blink.
It was an incoming message from his friend, The Warden of Newgate, Duncan M'guire, asking him to arrive at Christy's for a meeting with the other Chief Constables. He also asked to keep it quiet. Brian could only guess what the meeting was about, As they all just lost their beloved Commissioner.
Brian quickly closed the files on his desk, deleted the message from his terminal, put on his heavy coat and headed out towards Christy's.
He boarded his planetary ship and set it on auto pilot, Destination: Christy's.
On the flight there he couldn't stop thinking about the loss of Abigail. It was hard enough on him to lose Sir Alan, but now Abigail as well, and in his own district, under his nose. Someone will pay dearly for this, of that Brian was sure.
Brian's line of thought was interrupted by a feminine electronic voice: "Destination Reached: Christy's"
Brian was so caught up in his thought he didn't even notice the ship landing.
He quickly got out and went towards Christy's.
As he got to the entrance, old memories started surfacing, he could remember his first time at Christy's, back at the time he joined the BPA "Some history you got here ol' chum" he whispered to himself. He then continued inside.
"Well, look who found the time to come over and visit this old' place" he heard from behind his back. He turned to fins Christy standing there with a mean look on her face.
"Em.. Well.. Em.. You see" Brian Started muttering.
"Shush there" Christy said, smiling now, "Save the excuses for someone that needs them and come here and give me a hug" The two hugged.
"I am sorry to hear about Abigail's death, she was a fine woman" Christy said.
"Indeed" Brian said "She will be missed by all of us" he added.
"Look, I'm sorry I didn't come by and help you get this place back up, it's been a very tough and busy time for me, but I did manage to raise some credits for you"
Brian then handed her 1 mil credits. "I hope this would help you keep things running for a while"
Christy then moved and hugged Brian again.
"Thank you!" Christy said with tears "Now, the boys are waiting for you in the back room, so move along, don't keep them waiting" Christy whispered into Brian's ear with a smile.
Brian then broke off and proceeded to the back room at Christy's.
As he entered the room, he could see Joshua Cooper and Duncan M'guire seating there discussing some issues.
"Hello there mates; it saddens me we are meeting under this grim situation" Brian said while shaking hands with Joshua and Duncan.
He then sat at the table and joined the conversation, waiting for the others to arrive.
