Started the shift with a patrol of New York on my own, it was quiet and uneventful. I checked the gates and trade lanes before moving on to the Texas system.
Sitting near Battleship Mississippi, I stopped freighters and other craft for scans. While there I forwarded a Bretonian ship to New York about a Rheinland representative who wished to enter Liberty space. I sent them to find the Navy to deal with them.
Shortly after, Navy ships started to pour in. During their arrival I was alerted of a ship carrying Slaves. They refused all my warnings and requests for them to cut their engines and drop his cargo. After a long chase, I managed to disrupt his engines, where he then tried to engage me. I continued to order him to stop and drop the cargo.
In return he continued to fire, so I was forced to engage him. The ship was the "Winner.Wolf".
I docked at Huntsville for a short break. After leaving I found a Rogue ship hitting the trade lanes quite close to Houstan. Preventing a Bretonian capital ship and it's Liberty battlecruiser escort from using them.
I waited to see if either would respond to the rogue before I moved in myself, neither responded to him. So I hailed him, ordered him to lower his shields and hand himself in. Instead I was mocked then fired on. I engaged the Rogue whilst a nearby ship with a Freelancer IFF began to engage me as well.
After a short while, neither side was prevailing. Though my shields kept getting taken down, I sent out a mayday, and Navy ships responded, chasing the Rogue and Freelancer off. The Rogue ship was the "Laser.Muncher" and the Freelancer was "Night.Hawk". Both escaped/were chased off towards on of the gas clouds. The engagement took place in sector E3.
One of the Navy ships said to disengage as the ships headed into/further towards the gas cloud. I thanked him for the help, and headed back to Huntsville. Where I repaired and took the time to take notes on the events.
I later headed to Illinois to hook up with the recently promoted Sergeant John Aryn, taking formation with his gunboat and with another Liberator we began a patrol through Colorado and into New York. The other Liberator left us and another recruit joined the patrol.
It was quiet for a while, though the system comms suggested something was up. We patrolled the system, checking gates and the trade lanes in New York. One of which I found a Corsair ship. I instantly reported it to the Sergeant. I took a closer look and found the ship was a gunboat. After Sergeant Aryn arrived, the corsair engaged him. In which I assisted. We managed to defeat the ship a short while after, just after the other recruit joined us again after his patrol towards another gate.
We stopped at Norfolk, where the other recruit was sent to patrol towards another gate, while we sat there. A transport ship appeared, which we stopped. On board they had 700 or so slaves. We managed to eventually get them to be dropped, a nearby carrier picked them up for us. As we did not have the cargo holds to get them to a station.
Refusing to pay the fine of 1,000,000 that the Sergeant issued, he was forced to destroy the slaver's ship and take his pod.
After that, the Sergeant got a message from a Navy ship regarding a "Rogue" carrier. We were asked to intercept and disrupt it as it headed towards Area 21, but he responded saying we do not take orders from Navy. Though one of us would most likely have gone down against that kind of fire-power.
Instead, we moved into the Norfolk area, and waited until we were asked to make a perimeter around the entrance to Area 21. Where no ships were to come in or out. All other Navy vessels were engaged either inside or patrolling nearby. Only a single navy gunboat was approved to go through by the Sergeant's Navy contact for the operation.
Aryn was later relieved and we were joined by another Swat gunboat. After a while we were no longer needed at the Area 21 entrance. Instead made a brief patrol through New York, where I monitored traffic in the Net. Scanning ships at random.
We made it into California, where we broke up the patrol and ended our shifts. I made a quick run through New York, where I noticed 3 pirates threatening someone 13k from the Trade Lane to Manhatten from West Point. I cruised back and listened in, though did not dare enter the debris field. They tried robbing the person, but they did not have the money. Instead letting him/her go.
Upon leaving, the pilot offered their services for smuggling. Perhaps they should be looked out for, just in case. The hostile ships were "the.Amaranth", "Rawrr" and "Highrise". The pilot victim to their threats and demands was "Silekar" and he was also the one offering smuggling services to the pirates.
