it happons that the merc ID is a better fit for our escort wings RP, and that using the republican ID would make it nearly impossible for them to work as they are supposed to.

Then do not hide behind the fact your escorts are using the merc ID, RepEX merc ID's are attacking SCRA vessels expect the SCRA to take offense, nothing personal mate, just simple and solid RP.
