It looked cool, and indeed 100m was about the lower range limit. Anything under that and the FL engine goes inexplicably spastic.
But as stated above, lag. As for the physics, I mean honestly, who gives a s***.

ps. Actually a refire of 16.67 (same as chainguns) would still be ok, as the plasma FX is sufficiently big and cloudy to form a continuous stream. So maybe it would work, technically.
