Garret Goderich came rushing in the doors, late, his large frame heaving from loss of breath. In his hands were the documents his engineering team's work on engine assembly and powerplants for warships.

"Sorry I'm late," Garret wheezed, "Had a run in with a Corsair in the Omeg......."

The old salty dog had just realized that no one was shocked at his late arrival. Indeed they all seemed stirred up by a comotion and were heading away towards the viewing area. He noisily threw his folder on the table, jammed his fists in his pockets, and lumbered towards the crowd.

"What happened?" asked Garret to the closest board member, "Wasn't Mr Graves supposed to be giving an introductory speech and tell us the new direction?

"Shhhh," was the responce, "Mr Graves passed away, Mr Harland is continuing on."

Garret Goderich reeled at the news. Mr Graves Dead! Surely he wasn't much older than Garret himself. Will the old salty dog, himself, meet his end soon?
Frowning, Garret rubbed his forehead and than cleared his mind of the troubling thoughts. He looked up and gave his full attention to the meeting, he was sure the news of what happened to Mr Graves will be told afterwards.
