However, on the basis of the RP you wish to begin. I think it has merit, however you will need to do some work in fleshing it out. Add some FL references (like the names of nebulas, even the sirius sector itself)

Maybe describe some characters, like they are ex corsairs, or ex IMG who went exploring, etc... You'll also need to explain how they came across their ships. (was it their original? did they steal them from crews they killed? etc)

Let your own RP skill shine through. The more you can make this your own, the better. There are alot of benefits to making it your own RP. For one the respect, I feel more people will go with it if it is yours mostly, then if it is purely based off firefly. Secondly, if you do an exceptional job, you may in the future qualify for a terrorist license, and even might end up with a modder designing a custom ship for you, for the next version (like Monstar)
