...Incoming Transmission...
Source: Commander Kaylee Staite, The Order
"Greetings, honored Corsair Elders. Most of you do not know me, I have only recently gained command of a ship within The Order, and it is unfortunate that in my first diplomatic transmission I do not bring good news."
"Today, I received a transmission from Freeport 11 requesting assistance against potential hostiles. By the time my ship arrived, I found a Zoner Juggernaut, along with two Bounty Hunter Battlecruisers and several civilian fighters, forming a defensive barrier between the Freeport and two Osiris-Class Battleships just outside of weapons range."
"Closer inspection of these two battleships revealed them to be of Corsair design and bearing Corsair IFF transponders. They claimed to be some sort of 'ghosts', speaking in a manner I can only describe as akin to Nomad Telepathy. They were quite clear in their intent to attack and destroy the Zoner juggernaut, and by association the Freeport itself."
"Now, while I do not like working with the Bounty Hunters, one of our fiercest enemies, I must admit I was relieved they were present to help, as the Juggernaut and my carrier alone would likely not have been enough to repel two combat outfitted battleships. The Hunters wrecklessly made the first move, attempting a pre-emptive strike against the enemy, with one of their Battlecruisers being lost in the process. Shortly afterwards my own ship, as well as the juggernaut, were locked in combat with the two Osiris-Class Battleships. The fight did not last long, and both of these assailants were destroyed, thankfully with minimal damage to the freeport and either of our ships."
"I'm sending this transmission to inspire an investigation into these craft from within the Corsair military. It is unsettling that Corsair Warships are out attacking relatively undefended civilian stations, and those belonging to The Order's allies no less. I am relatively sure that these two ships were not linked to the Corsair command structure, and were operating as renegades, perhaps under nomad influence... but that remains to be seen."
"As follows are sensor recordings from my ship of the incident, along with the designations of the two Corsair vessels destroyed in the engagement."
