After you stripp it down to the firing mechanism, all you have to know is the ammount and sequence of energy to pump into it for it to fire. Delicate work, sure, but not at all impossible. Once you know that, you can easily construct a computer interface, and mount it on your ship, attached to power inputs.
As to Gallia as a whole..I'm not sure it makes internal coherent sense....Why, for example, did the council break down the barrier (how, too, did people never go around the minefield: if you read the news...it appears as though the IMG -knew- about the barrier) Reunion has itsself some plot holes. Why isn't the Council actively courting, say, Kusari, or Malta? (or liberty, Rhienland, the GMG, Zoners, IMG, Bretonia, Sairs, Hessians, etc?)
