' Wrote:Gentlemen, if i may ask someone with wealth of knowledge of zoner world to tell me what are they (according to freelancer) bringing to each sirius faction?
the main import that is.
and then can you tell me how much of those are being done actually.
I always thought that Zoners werent supposed to be every factions pack mules whose goal was to supply each and every faction with what they need. Instead Freeports act as wholesalers where outlaws sell their wares for a decent price and Zoners ship it to the houses, returning with things the outlaws would need in return. Acting as a middle man to both sides while taking neither.
A key to their survival was the Freeports where anyone, from any faction, could come and sell their wares without fear of being attacked as a lot of the pirate/outlaw (i.e Non house corps/Navy) factions, have in their ZOI some sort of mineable cloud. As they cant sell to house planets, they sell to Zoners who act as a sort of middle man and sell the products on. It was in everyones interest to play by Zoner rules or be cut off from supplies youd have trouble getting elsewhere.
All Zoners wanted, the main reason why i joined them as it goes, was to live in relative peace and fly round, seeing the world, acting as a necessary evil to keep the economy going. Its easier and cheaper for the houses to buy cheap goods from the Zoners rather than fight a war with the outlaws for control of the fields/areas where they get their goods. The Molly gold fields are an example of this.
Most factions allow this as not every house or outlaw group has access to every commodity, so someone has to cart it about and Zoners are a neutral party to all and so noone needs to feel their mortal enemies are profitting from their work.
OSI has trade routes that go to every house apart from Gallia and return with useful things for anyone out in the sticks. Deuterium, MOX, H Fuel, Neon, Nobium, Fertilisers, Luxury Consumer Goods, Optronics. All useful to anyone who cant land at the bases we can to pick them up. While were in house space we also fly a few things around there from where we land to increase in-house trade. All of our routes begin and end at Zoner bases/planets.
So as i said, i dont think we should bring things directly to you, you should come get what you need from the Freeports.
One thing that i think would help would be an overhaul of Zoner commodity prices to reflect this.
For example - Food. In the Omicrons, the Zoner bases are the main source of food as they have the bio-domes. Food should be dirt cheap from these bases and sell for quite a lot on Corsair, Outcast, Hessian and Order bases and anyone else close by as the majority of these cant produce their own food in RP. This could be done at the other Freeports and the other outlaw bases nearby. If you made short trips have a decent profit/hour ratio then not only could people make money but itd encourage more RP between factions. If the ratios could be set to give a smiliar return to each base then itd be better for RP as there would be more incentive to go to the dreaded Omegas or to Minor etc.
If we start delivering to one group or another then it can either be seen as favouritism or 'if we badger them enough theyll cave and do what we want' style weakness so i really dont think its up to us to come to you.
It was in this spirit that i saw the NFZ rules the Council of Zoners voted on. Each group could come to the closet Freeport and pick up what they need for their faction according to their RP. Pirate a lot? Youll need Hull Ship Panels and fuel then. Mine a lot? Youll need mining machinery then. Hunt Nomads? Youll need Pineal Amulets and prayer books then etc.
So, i reject the premise of the question. Its not up to me to supply you. Its up to you to come and get what you need.
