Well, I do not understand all your networking descriptions, but as far as the global work-around, it works fine for me . .. Never had a bit of trouble . . .
I do understand your problem with game, and it is a good idea, BUT, too many people would take advantage of it . . .

Is your friend also using his connection shared the same way you are or is the PC he uses running a coax hookup?

Also, can you try installing FL on the computer you have with the coax hookup?
