some discussion has been going on. about balance and weaponry. some of us have helt long discussions about this subject. some ideas were being put forward, and I figured I might as well put them u here for all to discuss.
first off: bombers
too omnipotent. (see other thread about this)
adjust them to their rule? heavy anti-shield turrets, slow turning and hard hitting anti-cap weapons like the snac and Nova torp.
2nd: caps
currently, caps are a joke. it`s weird that a BS or BC has to fear for its life when faced by 2 bombers.
so maybe give caps their awe factor back. make em big, scary and hard to kill. that gives caps a raison d`etre: they need to whack each other.
3rd: cap weaponry
some ideas that came bubbling up.
- phalanx like chainguns for caps to effectivly fend off bombers. buffed up solarisses if ya will.
- give caps the possibility to launch anti-bomber missles. this will improve their odds against bombers, but leaves the cap more vulnarable to other caps.
- add artilery guns. proper primary turrets that do 15k damage, refire of .75 and 4k range. (ww2 warship idea)
- have some new bs equip a forward gun like the siege cruiser. massive damage, slow refire, blind fiiring.
these ideas may also change cap warfare. caps won`t be whaling at 200 distance when these weapons can be used.
then I had this idea about a giant vacuumcleaner in the bow of a warship, that sucks in smaller ships when they get too close. then those ships get mauled by a bunch of spiky axles. scrap metal and human organs will be spat out of the abck of the cap equipped with this weapon.
not really realistic, I know. but hell. I`m all groggy now. so I may have forgotten some stuff to add.
