I personally enjoyed your story Ghost. Perhaps making the files more like a neutral log of events by an observer (supervisor, perhaps?). Or perhaps even having a few files from the log of one of the scientists who is REALLY into the project, then one that wishes to get the hell out, or one that hates what they are doing and wishes to end it.

OR, you could have it be the logs of the Ghost Squadron themselves. Each person having similar traits, but one big difference (hatred for a certain thing that none of the others have, for example... Like mercenaries! Or Bounty Hunters!).
