' Wrote:I've used table made by sunergos to make my own table in Excel (that program is more familiar). Automated the process of calculating Hull/sec, Shield/sec, Power/sec, added INI rates (1/in-game rate, like in ini files), added INI weapon code, and a new system to calculate efficiency. My formula for efficiency is:
Let me explain.
( (Hull/S) / (Power/S) ) evaluate how energy efficient the weapon is. The more is this number, the better is efficiency. More damage, less power -> more efficient. Less damage, more power -> less efficient.
( (600/Range) * (600/Speed) ) is a value that calculates speed and range multiplier. "Normal" speed and range is 600. I compare speed and range of each weapon with 600 and get a value ranging from 0,8 to 1,5. This value is multiplied by power efficency.
should the formula for the velocity and range be inverted? For example, if you apply that formula to the solaris chain gun, it drops to the bottom of the chart... unless i've messed something up, which is totally possible. I would think that the damage over a greater range, at a highter velocity, should make it more efficient rather than less...
