Also, to reduce shield running, an idea would be to make so shields don't regen during cruising.

I approve this suggestion. Sure, it also has downsides and possible side effects, but at least it directly tackles the main problem.

The power drain itself doesn't bother me, and it makes sence within Freelancer lore. It's the five or more second delay before regeneration restarts that I find so annoying. It basically gives NPCs a free pass at your ship, and it just feels so unfair.

I haven't fought in PvP combat yet so I can't comment on if it actually reduces shield running.

Still, I give a hearty thanks to everyone involved, for putting in the effort to make this game better for everyone.
