They're the by-product of the discussions, which was an extremeist eco-terrorist faction that was blinkered to more liberal arguments. You have to be if you're going to justify your actions. That's how they were founded anyway... Much alike the Hessians, who started with good intentions.
Yeh, you're right actually. The fact is I'm used to RP as the NLH, not the pirate extremist. You'll only find me on Edinburgh, preying on Planetformers and preaching whenever I actually find a player there. That said, I'm used to the politic speech. Missed the big picture, have I.
' Wrote:Two. The extremeist enviromentalist are a dying/dead breed. The Gaian newer generation is a full blooded piracy outfit. No morals, just piracy. Generally speaking these new Gaians don't give a damn about terraforming, Planetform or OSC. It saddens me that Gaian factions always try to take the good-guy option, rather than what the faction actually is...
Actually this is something I have been thinking of... But the lack of players withing this line of reason had discouraged me. Hm. The idea of turning totally towards Bio Terrorism + acting as a support line for the Kusarian Forces have been pounding on my head for a while.
' Wrote:Three. Any potential for the Gaians to return to an extremeist anti-terraforming organisation was more or less bulldozed by the war. To successfully acheive their goals, they need popular support. They sided with Kusari and lost every single vestige of popular support they may have had. You can't claim to have the population on your side when you're killing their soldiers, and helping the people that are trying to conquer them. Equally, the Gaians will have destroyed any influence they had in Parliment, because their actions would have marginalised the Green Front and polarised opinion against them. Honestly, the Green Front needs the Gaians like a hole in the head at the moment.
That may have led to a separtism between political groups, yes, but as stated, since The Green Front always took care of the politics and Gaians of the guerilla aproach, they didn't really lose territory.
' Wrote:EDIT: Four. If you're going to play hardline enviromentalist, you should hate Kusari just as much as Bretonia. There are more terraforming projects in Kusari than in Bretonia. Samura is a terraforming organisation.
As far as I know, Gaians have operated much more in Bretonia than Kusarian space. Any situation of this kind, coming from that side either has not been seen, not talked about or have been simply ignored so far. I, for once, am not aware of more terraforming spots than in Bret. Besides, they have a bigger threat on Bretonia already. Not only that but I'm sure Bretonian ships have some sort of windshield cleaners, 'cause every system there is more poluted than a trash bin - comparing them to Kusari is like comparing Hell to Heaven.
