After surviving the cylon holocaust, the remaining human survivors landed in the "sirus sector", there he served under " President dymas, Orrin" and "admiral Lucius Battaglia", he climbed ranks, from junior luitenant to cornol, and then back to major.
After manny jears in the sirus sector, the Galactica and its fleet moved on to a new sector in the universe, the " nightstalker sector". After arriving in nightstalker they got intercepted by Cylons, and turned into half men half machine things. His mind was broken, serving an machine core now.
When an extremly deadly virus somehow reached the core, he broke free. Still half men half machine, the surviving crew of the galactica returend home, to the sirus sector.
The president "orrin" and admiral "Lucius Battaglia" died in the process, and had to be replaced.
Lunar took the presidents seat upon him, which he remains untill this verry moment.
His best friend, and most loyal and experienced viper pilot, took the Admirals seat aboard the battlestar " Nemesis", admiral Alexander wingates.
