Kerrigan sat alone in the bar sipping at his small shot of gin. He looked around, and saw a good-looking fighter jock talking with another one. Why can't I ever get that, he thought as the door swung open to reveal two bomber pilots and Brackenbury walk in.
"Edmund, over here," Kerrigan called. Brackenbury looked over at him, but went to the bar first. Once again, he ordered stout. He then went over to sit with Kerrigan.
"How did your day go?" Brackenbury asked as he pulled the chair out.
"Not too bad. We were sent out to rescue an entire BAF squadron that had come under fire from some Corsairs. Luckily, we arrived after a gunboat got there. I was excited, they all survived horrendous wounds, although I do give a lot of credit to many of the Sin|Tech products I just received."
"Not too bad?" Brackenbury said, "sounds like you had a great day."
"One could say that, how was yours?"
"Pretty routine. Encountered a few enemy patrols in New London and Cambridge. We ended up arresting twelve Mollies and four Gaians. We gave them over to police custody in our movement to Manchester."
Brackenbury called for some more cashews. "I'm pretty excited," he said after eating an entire bowl. It seemed like he was burning to tell his friend something.
"About what?" Kerrigan asked.
"Well, see that lady over there? That's the date I had the other night. Well, she's a defense lawyer for some pretty high-level government offices in Bretonia and Liberty. She goes up there quite a bit, and I'm headed up there in about a month or so. I haven't been up to Liberty since I was a kid, and I never got to visit Manhattan. Only Denver and Las Angeles. We're touring all of the major planets up there." Brackenbury kept talking, but Kerrigan began to phase into his own thinking.
It's nice that he's got someone. I thought he was getting lonely. Now I've just got to find someone for myself
Retired A very big thanks to Dark Oddity who put my signature pic together
