One thing to note, however, is that there is a huge price gap between the mining freighter (CSF, 500 cargo, two million credits) and the mining "transport", the Salvager (3300 cargo, 110 million credits). Many Junkers seem to pick up a mid-size transport to earn money through trade in the process, the Firefly (3500 cargo, 39 million credits) is a popular choice. The Pirate Transport or Pirate Train would work, but now they're illegal in Liberty whether you're doing anything wrong or not.
